We are a design studio based in Milan devoted to create impact and value. Since 2001 we take care of all the creative aspects for a client list of individuals, brands, institutions and NGOs.

Architect / Designer / Artist - Milan[...] Whomade è un'azienda che fonda il proprio valore sulla rete che ha generato e che continuamente tesse per crescere, spiega il suo fondatore e direttore creativo Edoardo Perri. Pone la propria missione nel mezzo di una crisi in atto da tempo: quella di un settore, l'artigianto tradizionale, che da decenni soffre di un distacco con il mercato e, in alcuni casi, dello sfaldamento del contesto di riferimento su cui basava la costruzione del proprio valore.
Sfruttando questa impasse come un'occasione, Whomade sviluppa strategie proprie per trasformare il limite dell'artigianato in opportunità.

Creative Director
Edoardo Perri
He is the creative director of Italian design agency Whomade and founder of Todomundo Fair Design. Graduated in Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano (IT), he had sharpened his conceptual capabilities at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (NL), then teaching at the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL), at the Creative Academy (IT) and at the NABA Academy in Milan (IT). Beside his activity as designer, lecturer and art-director, he is promoter of various researches and projects in the fields of the new creative industries and innovative crafts. Along the last ten years he had run creative workshops in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America, in collaboration with international NGO’s, National Governments and an extensive network of craftspeople and producers. He keeps imagining and designing for various Italian brands and he is always keen on addressing new cultural and social configurations to develop innovative solutions tuned to the evolutions of contemporaneity.

Dario Riva
He was trained as designer at Politecnico di Milano and since 2000 he has developed and managed communication and art-direction projects for some of the best-known and appreciated creative agencies in Milan. After a Master in Design Management at Politecnico di Torino in 2004, he keeps working as project manager in projects of branding, retail design, strategic communication and marketing for Italian and international prominent companies and brands. In 2007 he founds the design studio Whomade, in which he manages the strategic direction and is responsible for the communication. Since 20111, he is permanent design teacher at the NABA Academy in Milan.
Innovation Specialist
Elvira Karipova
Holding a double-degree in Finance and Credit and International Business and Economics at Pavia University, she has grown professional expertise in innovation and performance management applied to the development of new businesses. As consultant and project manager she is collaborating with start-ups, business incubators and agencies, supporting projects in the analysis and the planning of the business development. Since 2015, she collaborates with CREOLO drafting and implementing growth strategies for the management of incremental and radical design-driven innovation.

From the traditional iron processing as typical in Camonica Valley, Whomade develops with Uberto Gnaro a series of objects inspired by the simple forms of buckets and pans belonging to the local rural culture. The roast chestnut pot is the symbolic mother element for all the collection: overturned, manipulated and transformed, it passes on the dominant gene to a numerous kind of objects, all dedicated to the contemporary home, able to directly give back an idea of a frugal, simple and reassuring world.

Foodscapes
The project is an action Foodscapes reconstruction technique of the subject food waste, free from additives, preservatives, dyes, thickeners, concealers and artificial agents, where the essence of natural and biological substance of the food back to coincide then however regenerate. Foodscape is a shell created with food scraps. Has the shape of a seed and is suitable to contain dry foods. Designed to fit into the logic of natural cycles, once out of its use, can be dissolved in water and used to fertilize the soil. From seed to fruit, the fruit and the seed from the earth to the earth.

Fractal collection products are developed in collaboration with Luca Brenna's young Lombard craft reality. He works iron and mainly applies his art to custom made stairs and architectural elements. The collection is planned to give personality to the classic semi-processed iron rod that fills the laboratory and the forge as facility support element. With Fractal series we wanted to make the rod protagonist, studying for it the most delicate and at the same time solid equilibrium between aesthetic shape and construction technique: the fractal. WHOMADE Fractals become therefore mobile, aerial, exploded objects, built with extreme simplicity in a nevertheless tangled space system.

Eggy multifunctional mirror
Eggy is a multifunctional complement of furniture designed to organize and to make easier the family sharing of the bathroom. Consisting of a mirror and an equipped shelf, Eggy allows to store the toothbrushes of each component of a family, to preserve them and to get them recognizable by personal wooden “caps”. The kit is designed to hang towels, simply put soap and toothpaste in place and organize all the necessary accessories for the daily toilette practices.

Metal casting workshop - India
International design program and workshops of product development in the Indian region of Bastar, in collaboration with Saathi and groups of local producers. Dokra handcrafts refer to the homonymous technique of lost wax metal casting. In the Bastar region this technique is associated to the ‘Ghadwa’ community, which in the local etymology means: “to shape, create”. The collection reads anew the monolithic aspect of the single castings into an exploration of modular ornamental elements, starting from looking at the local heritage of figurative signs and symbols. Aluminum and brass are shaped into rings, bracelets, necklaces, pochette, but also containers and home decorative objects.
